Quality Beauty And Amazing Tone Is Always Found When One Plays A Martin Acoustic Guitar

The CF Martin Company began when a German cabinet-makers son left the family business to study guitar making under a master in Vienna. The renowned guitar makers name was Johan Stauffer. Christian Frederick Martin Sr. Made this decision in January of seventeen ninety-six, where he created the first Martin acoustic guitar.

The Martin Company is recognized for its exceptionally sounding instruments. They are famous all over the world. Martin has always been progressive by designing and building models the public craved. Today there are many models to choose.

Martin designates its different models with letters. D stands for dreadnought, which is a larger guitar than its previous models that has a more reverberating bass resonance.

At first the dreadnought was not accepted readily. People liked the higher pitch in the standard size guitar of the era. The genre that made the dreadnought popular was country music. It wasn't long that country artists realized that the deeper sound was a good distinction to the elevated pitched resonance of the mandolin and the violin. Only then was it accepted.

Jumbo guitars are bigger than the dreadnought and has a much more thunderous sound. Its designation is the letter J. The grand auditorium guitar has a unique design and has a larger bout or bottom than the upper part of the body. It has the letter M or OOOO on the label. The auditorium model is designated with OOO and is more like the size of the original Martin. Today many people call this a folk guitar.

Lead guitar players usually prefer a guitar with a C on the label, which means it is made with a cut away body to enable the player to fret higher on the neck. CF Martin has been making Martin acoustic guitars for over one hundred and fifty years. With this kind of experience, a person knows quality goes into every model.
