Guild Guitars -What's Not To Love?
62
Guild guitars and I were both born at the time in history. The year was 1953. But that's not the only reason I have a soft spot in my heart for them. My first acoustic guitar was a Guild, as was the first 12-string I ever owned. These were great guitars when purchased in the '60s and still are to this day.

- Gibson Acoustic Guitar
The Gibson Montana builders create each guitar with the same high standards. - Gibson Les Paul Custom
With it's traditional gold-plated parts and sumptuous multiple binding, Gibson's Les Paul Custom defines style, grace, and elegance in electric guitar design. - Gibson Bass Guitar
The Gibson Bass Series utilizes classic designs and finishes from Gibson's solidbody electric guitars to create a unique family of electric basses. Before the first note is played, these instruments are easily recognizable as "only a Gibson". - Gibson ES 335 | Gibson ES335 Guitars
The Gibson ES-335 is an electric guitar-style quarter-box "(Thinline) and" semi-hollow "(semi-hollow) manufactured by U.S. firm Gibson Guitar Corporation.
Since the Company first began they have been crafting nothing but the
very best in stringed instruments. At the beginning they were dubbed,
"the Stradivari of Guitars" and they have held on to that idea of
timeless quality for almost six decades. Their website is a great place
to visit, where you'll find all the latest models and a list of some of
the famous musicians who have chosen the Guild name for their own
instruments. George Benson, Paul Simon, Eric Clapton and Ritchie Havens
are just a few of the world-famous clientele.
The first Guild manufacturing facility was located in New York City.
Later, when they outgrew these quarters, operations were moved to
Hoboken, N. J., just across the river from NYC. Currently residing in
New Hartford, Connecticut, the Company continues providing the world
with only the most finely crafted guitars made.
You may have heard the saying, "Good things aren't cheap and cheap
things aren't good." Well, Guilds aren't cheap, but you definitely get
what you pay for. Pick up any of the zillions of copies made in China
and play it. It will come out as obviously second-rate when compared to
this All-American beauty, the Guild.
Back in 1969, when Richie Havens took center stage at the Woodstock
Festival he was playing his Guild, and he's playing it still. They
continue to make that same model, the D-40, to this day. It's become
famous, just like Richie.
For looks, for sound and for longevity Guild Guitars are serious
contenders next to any guitars made. You'd think they had run out of
improvements by now, but they just keep getting better. Try one out.
Play well!
